•  General Description:

The Langenbeck Retractor is a hand-held, right-angled surgical retractor commonly used in various types of open surgeries to hold back soft tissues, skin, and muscle, allowing the surgeon clear visibility and access to deeper structures.

 Shape & Design:

• Blade: Flat and right-angled, typically with a smooth or slightly curved tip.

• Handle: Long, flat, and ergonomically designed for a good grip; sometimes includes a thumb rest.

• Angle: The blade is set at a right angle (90 degrees) to the handle to facilitate effective retraction.

 Sizes Available:

Common blade sizes (length x width of the blade):

• Small: 25 mm x 6 mm

• Medium: 38 mm x 10 mm

• Large: 50 mm x 15 mm
